Samantha Beeman
Bio:
Samantha Beeman has taught for over ten years as a band director at Valley Southwoods. Her current responsibilities include conducting the 9th grade concert band, the 9th grade jazz bands, teaching lessons, pep band, and serving as an assistant marching band director, the music department chair, and as a member of the building leadership team. Ensembles under Mrs. Beeman's direction have consistently placed at local and regional festivals. She has had numerous students selected for honor bands and all-state. Mrs. Beeman has been an adjudicator for multiple honor band auditions both at the middle school and high school levels. She has conducted multiple honor bands and is a member of The Access Collective. She is a past president of SCIBA and co-chair for the SCIBA high school honor band. In addition to her role as a band director, she serves as a drill designer for a few area bands. Prior to starting at Valley, Mrs. Beeman taught at Collins Maxwell for 2 years and North Polk for 4 years before that. Mrs. Beeman lives in West Des Moines with her husband, Micah, and their two daughters, Melody and Madison.
