Michael Prichard
Bio:
Michael Prichard and his wife, Greta, and sons, Charlie and Walter live in LeMars, Iowa, where he is the band director at LeMars Community High School. He previously taught at Waterloo West High School and Bishop Heelan High School. Michael graduated Summa Cum Laude from the University of Northern Iowa in 2005 and received a Master of Arts Degree from UNI in 2013. During the summer, Michael conducts the Sioux City Municipal Band and plays trumpet in the LeMars Municipal Band. When he isn’t at school, he enjoys spending time with his sons and wife. He also enjoys going to the movie theater, cycling, and laying on the couch. He has been involved in arts advocacy at the state level, meeting with state representatives and state senators to discuss the importance of arts education. He has presented across the state of Iowa about state and national music education standards. Professional memberships include Iowa Bandmasters Association, Northeast Iowa Bandmasters Association, Jazz Educators of Iowa, and the Iowa Alliance for Arts Education. He is a former president of the Northwest Iowa Bandmasters Association.
